Surveyors are professional people whose academic qualifications and post-graduate training enable them to advise on the management and use of land and property, both rural and urban and whether developed or undeveloped. Surveyors understand the legislation governing land and property; the markets trading in it; the services supporting it; and the economics of construction, management, maintenance, acquisition and disposal.
Practice of the surveyor's profession involves a broad range of activities which may occur on, above or below the surface of the land or the sea, and which may be carried out in association with other professionals
We are members of the International Federation of Surveyors(FIG) and the Commonwealth Association of Surveyors and LandEconomists (CASLE)

LAND SALES BLOCKED
The Military Regime blocked all purchases of land by non residents with effect from 21st December 2006.
This has now been relaxed, but confusion reigns within the government.
Sales of land to non residents are cntroled by the Land Sales Act Cap 137. By implication a non resident is someone who is not a resident as defined by the Act.
"resident" in the case of an individual means an individual who is a Fiji citizen or an individual whose home is in Fiji and who has been resident in Fiji for not less than seven years at the date of the dealing or in the case of a company means a company, the controlling interest in which is held by a resident or residents as hereinbefore defined;
Anyone purchasing, or contemplating the purchase of land in Fiji is strongly advised to consult a member of the Institute of Surveyors
